Withdrawal of PIS-Pasep 2024 salary bonus: workers still have R$228 million available

Workers and civil servants who meet the program requirements are entitled to an annual benefit of up to one minimum wage. Check if you are among them.

More than 247 thousand workers entitled to salary bonus PIS-Pasep of 2024 have not yet withdrawn the benefit, according to data released by the Ministry of Labor this Monday (14). The total of R$ 228,651,555 remains available for withdrawal.

The salary bonus is an amount of up to one minimum wage granted annually to employees and civil servants who meet the program criteria.

This year, private sector workers (PIS) and public servants (Pasep) who carried out paid work for at least 30 days in 2022, with a monthly income of up to two minimum wages (see other requirements below) are entitled to the benefit.

The deadline for withdrawing the amount ends on December 27. If the benefit is not withdrawn by this date, the amounts will be returned to the Workers' Support Fund (FAT), in accordance with the program's rules.

Even so, it is possible to recover the amounts after the deadline, but the process must be carried out through the Ministry of Labor's service channels.

For those who requested a review of the allowance through an administrative appeal, payments will be released monthly, always on the 15th or the first business day thereafter.

How do I withdraw my Salary Bonus?

PIS: For private sector workers, PIS (Social Integration Program) payments are administered by Caixa Econômica Federal. Those with a checking or savings account at Caixa receive the benefit automatically, according to the bank's payment schedule.

If they do not have an account, beneficiaries can redeem the amount through the Caixa Tem app or through other Caixa withdrawal channels, such as branches, lottery outlets, self-service terminals and Caixa Aqui correspondents.

Pasep: For public servants, Pasep (Public Servant Asset Formation Program) is made available by Banco do Brasil. Bank customers receive the benefit directly into their checking or savings account, while non-bank account holders can withdraw the amount through the Banco do Brasil website or in person at one of its branches.

Requirements for Salary Bonus

Workers must meet certain criteria to be eligible for the benefit, including:

  • Be registered in the PIS/Pasep program or in the CNIS (date of first employment) for at least five years;
  • Work for employers who contribute to PIS or Pasep;
  • Have an average monthly salary of up to two minimum wages during the period worked;
  • Have carried out paid activity for at least 30 days in the base year of assessment (2022);
  • Have professional information correctly registered by the employer in the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS) or in eSocial for the base year in question.

Who is not entitled to the Salary Bonus?

The benefit does not apply to:

  • Domestic employees;
  • Rural and urban workers employed by individuals;
  • Workers of individuals equivalent to legal entities.

What is the value?

The value of the bonus is proportional to the period of work in the base year. The calculation is based on the current minimum wage, divided by 12 and multiplied by the number of months worked. Therefore, only those who worked the 12 months of the base year receive the full amount of the minimum wage.

This year, the value of the allowance varies between R$118 and R$1,412, depending on the number of months worked. See the values:
